NSW DRA WEEKEND: CITY VS COUNTRY VS ACT/CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS JULY 2-3, 2022

We can’t wait to see you on the Anzac Rifle Range in Malabar for what’s looking like a fantastic weekend.  The Range is looking incredible, thanks to the hard work and superior mowing skills of Andrew Halsted, Andrew Sims and others.

We have a licenced bar on Saturday night and a catered BBQ.  You need to book in for the BBQ as we won’t be taking payments on the night, and we are catering to numbers booked.  Don’t forget about our panel of experts answering your questions and Trivia just for fun.  Bookings close 23 June 2022.

It is with sadness that we say farewell to Sue Schwebel who has been managing the NSWRA Shop for the last 10 years.  I know that we will miss her incredible knowledge of the sport, products and her love for supporting our community.  Sues last day with us will be Thursday 23rd June, so pop in this Saturday and say goodbye.

Don’t forget our massive EOFY Sale starting 2nd July - everything except powder and projectiles will be on sale online and in the shop.  Grab yourself a bargain.

The shop will be open by appointment during the week from now, so if you need supplies and were thinking of popping in to Malabar, just give the office a bell in advance of your visit.  You can always click and collect too.  Normal Saturday hours of 8-12pm.

SPORT HER WAY – NSWRA SECURES FUNDING FOR WOMEN IN RIFLE SHOOTING

On Wednesday this week, the Office of Sport granted NSWRA funding to run a ‘Women on Target’ program.  The funding will allow us to support, showcase and let women know that everyone can get involved in Rifle Shooting.  The program will allow women to experience firsthand, fullbore long range with a sling and open sites, scoped rifle of different calibre, Biathlon, Smallbore and Precision Service rifle – our participants can become our promotional voice when they return to their regional communities.  We hope that through this program they can understand not only the technical basics of shooting but also enjoy being outdoors and meeting people from all different walks of life.

We will start planning the program shortly and hope to hold it in April 2023 – further news to follow.  Thanks to Heather Smith, NSWRA Board Director and the NSW Biathlon girls for their leadership and support.
